Frequently asked questions
The scan doesn't find my TV
Check that the TV is on (not standby) and that your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network - guest networks and some mesh/VLAN setups isolate devices from each other. If iOS asked for the Local Network permission and it was denied, enable it in Settings → Apps → TV Remote → Local Network. You can always add the TV by its IP address (shown in the TV's network settings) via Add TV.
The TV just turned on and the connection fails
TVs start their remote-control service 30-60 seconds after the picture appears. Wait a moment and tap Retry.
I pressed Deny on the TV by mistake
Just connect again - the pairing popup will reappear on the TV. On Samsung TVs, you can also reset permissions in the TV's menu under Settings → General → External Device Manager → Device Connection Manager.
The keyboard doesn't type into some TV apps
Some TV apps (notably Netflix on certain models) don't accept text from any external remote - that's a limitation of the TV app itself. YouTube search and the TV's own menus generally work. Use the on-screen keyboard of the TV in apps that refuse external input.
Turn On (Wake-on-LAN) doesn't wake my TV
The TV must support waking over the network and have it enabled - on Samsung it's usually called Power On with Mobile (Settings → General → Network → Expert Settings). The TV also needs to stay connected to power and to the same network. Waking is best-effort: if the TV has been off for a long time, it may not respond.
What does Pro include?
Everything for one TV is free, forever - full remote, touchpad (LG), keyboard, and voice input. Pro is a one-time purchase ($6.99) that unlocks saving multiple TVs and customizing the app-shortcut row. No subscription, no ads. Use Restore Purchases in Settings if you reinstall.
Which TVs are supported?
Samsung TVs running Tizen (roughly 2016 and newer) and LG TVs running webOS. Support varies slightly by model year and firmware - if something misbehaves on your model, send us the details (and a log export from Settings → Diagnostics) and we'll investigate.
